Watering Guidelines

Watering is the most important part of your landscaping, as your plant's survival and growth depends on it. These are only general watering guidelines to follow for new installations. Extreme weather conditions may require more or less watering. Remember to water slowly and thoroughly to make sure the water reaches the plant roots.

  • Water immediately after planting.
  • Water all newly planted shrubs, trees, and perennials thoroughly every other day for 4 weeks.
  • Water as needed, depending on rainfall and demand, for the rest of the season.
  • All newly seeded and sodded lawns must be kept wet for 2 weeks after installation for proper germination to occur. Water only in A.M. and early evening. Grass should be dry during nighttime hours.
